Artists - Diana Nethercott
hotSACKS creator Diana Nethercott, a Victoria freelance photographer, has used cloth shopping bags for the last ten years – she estimates she has personally saved over 5000 disposable bags from becoming statistics in the land fill. Now her mission is to get more people on board. With hotSACKS, Diana has managed to blend her desire for eco-consciousness with her flare for fashion design to produce a 100 percent recyclable bag that anyone can proudly carry – without being a walking billboard for a grocery store.
Diana’s hotSACKS are made from durable non-woven polypropylene, which contains 30 per cent recycled content and has no poisons or toxic byproducts. They are made in China at a Canadian owned certified factory that pays fair wages and does not use child labour. This manufacturer also supplies product for Mountain Equipment Co-op and the Hudson’s Bay. The bags are sanctioned with the EcoLogo stamp, one of North America’s most respected green certifications.
Quails’ Tale – These bags are easy to hand wash, hang to dry. They‘ll make great re-usable containers for your gifts!
